ASDA selects flb for Pharmacy range

Asda has redesigned it’s range of own-label pharmacy and diagnostics products, as part of its continuing focus into good-value non-food merchandise.

Branding and packaging consultancy flb has created the packaging design for the range, which includes First Aid, cough and cold, indigestion, pain relief, allergy relief and diagnostics products.

The core design consists of two wide bands crossing, with an image of a white cross overlapping to signal the health care sector. The product name appears within a white band. Colours help to define the different categories.

Simon Arundel, Senior Packaging Design Manager at ASDA says: “This launch is in line with our strategy to continue offering customers great value non-food products under the Asda brand name. flb has fulfilled our brief to come up with a clear, credible design which is able to span a wide range of products.”

Colin Mechan, Executive Creative Director at flb, said: “Consistency was key with this brief, so we had to create a flexible design that would sit well with a number of different products. In addition, trust is very important when customers are choosing an over-the-counter remedy, so the design had to be in line with their expectations in the pharmacy sector together with standing out against other brands.”

The Asda Pharmacy range is currently rolling out across categories.
